Nintendo Gamers Online New User Guide

Welcome, and congratulations on joining one of the best Nintendo Wi-Fi sites on the internet! On this page, we'll walk you through some things you'll want to do in order to get started using the site to it's full potential.

Step 1: Complete your Profile!
When you signed up, you gave us some very basic information, but there's a few other things you can enter into your profile to get the most out of the site. To do this, just click on "My Profile" up top under the "My Stuff" menu when you're logged in. Certain fields will help people find you, and others will actually unlock special site features when you fill them in.


Step 2: Add Your Games!
To start building your network, you're going to have to let everyone know what games you're playing. Clicking on the "My Games" link up top under the "My Stuff" menu takes you to a page where you can easily add, delete, and review your games. This also provides an easy way to access your friend codes from anywhere you have a computer. To add a new game, select the title from the drop down menu next to the system of choice and enter your friend code in the boxes that appear. Once you submit, the game is added to your profile and you can start sending and receiving friend requests for that game.




Alternatively... you can use the game search to find the game page of your choice, and click the link next to the box art to add the game to your profile.



Step 3: Add Friends!
Now that you've added your game, it's time to meet some new friends! If you're still in the "My Games" screen, click on the box art for your game to view the details page for that game. Here you can see information about the game including boxart, gameplay videos, and a list of everyone who plays it. You will notice up to 3 different types of icons next to players names.

To send a friend request, click the + icon by a players name. The player will be emailed and have the opportunity to approve or deny your request. Once the request is approved, both of you will receive an email containing each other's friend codes. To complete the process, enter your friends code into your copy of the game. For your convenience, you can review your friends and their codes by clicking the "My Friends" link at the top of the screen under the "My Stuff" menu.

Step 4: Tell us what you're up to!
One of the newer features of the site is the User Dashboard. This is currently displayed on every page of the site when you're logged in(hover your mouse over the "Dashboard" menu up top!). You can enter a status update here that your friends will see as soon as they log in.(click outside the edit box to save your changes). This is a great place to let everyone know when you're going to be playing online, or anything else you want to update them on. In the future, this feature will be an integral part of the site's features.. we'll be syndicating your friend updates via RSS, desktop widgets, and other methods.
Step 5: Play!
You're all set now! There's a lot of other stuff to do around the site, but these are the basics. Feel free to explore and discover all the other great features available to you(we add new ones so frequently, we don't even want to list them all here!).
