In a recent interview for Marvel.com, Zak Krefting, Creative Director at Shaba Games discussed the upcoming Spiderman game, Web of Shadows.
In the interview, he get's into some details about character customization, endings, and sadly, hinted that this is the game that could have become Spiderman VS. Marvel Zombies. He also mentions that the Wii version will not be toned down for the assumed "casual" Wii audience. That's what we like to hear!
Lack of zombies withstanding, we love the sound of this game and we'll be watching it closely as it draws ever closer to it's fall release. Shaba seems to be taking the Spiderman franchise to new heights thanks to an original storyline, non-linear gameplay, RPG-like character progression, and huge destructible environments.

Word came forth today from the annals of the internet, that Japanese gaming mag Famitsu has released some details on a Wii remake of the horror classic Resident Evil 2.
Aside from the original game features, the Wii version may feature additional story details and a new character, as well as a viewpoint similiar to that of Resident Evil 4.
Sounds good to us! You know we can never get enough Zombies! No word yet on whether this would even make it to North America..

While we can't say that we've ever actually played the original Boogie, or that we're in the least interested in it's sequel, Boogie Superstar, we still felt compelled to make this post for some reason. Is it because a hot chick is involved? Of course not! Couldn't be! Our journalistic integrity is far too high for those kinds of shenanigans!
Anyway.. it was indeed revealed today that Natasha Bedingfield, who we've just learned is an English pop star(thanks Google!) is the featured spokesperson for Boogie Superstar.
In a quote which was clearly not written by EA copywriters, Bedingfield says:
“Boogie SuperStar brings to life all the fun and excitement of performing. Being on stage is such a thrill and it’s great to be a part of an EA video game that lets girls experience how much fun it is to express themselves and explore their own creativity by performing.”
And while we're covering Boogie news.. we may as well include the partial track list that was just released today:
Angel, Love Like This [remix], Pocketful of Sunshine - Natasha Bedingfield
Dance Like There's No Tomorrow - Paula Abdul
Bullseye, Like Whoa, Potential Breakup Song - Aly & AJ
The Great Escape - Boys Like Girls
Everytime We Touch, What Hurts the Most - Cascada
Fancy Footwork - Chromeo
Thnks Fr Th Mmrs - Fall Out Boy
Glamorous - Fergie
Elevator - Flo Rida feat. Timbaland
I Don’t Want to Be in Love (Dance Floor Anthem) - Good Charlotte
Wake Up - Hilary Duff
Hold On, SOS, That’s Just the Way We Roll, When You Look Me in the Eyes [remix] - The Jonas Brothers
No One - Alicia Keys
Take You There - Sean Kingston
Girlfriend - Avril Lavigne
Bleeding Love - Leona Lewis
Shake It - Metro Station
What You Got - Colby O’Donis
I Don't Think About It - Emily Osment
Nine in the Afternoon - Panic at the Disco
Hot N Cold - Katy Perry
Jump to the Rhythm - Jordan Pruitt
Don’t Stop the Music, Shut Up and Drive - Rihanna
Yahhh! - Soulja Boy Tellem
Radar, Toxic - Britney Spears
He Said She Said - Ashley Tisdale
Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5
Stronger - Kanye West
So, was that enough Boogie news for you? Yeah.. us too.

When we heard that Bomberman was coming to WiiWare, we were excited. Ever since the days of Super Bomberman on the SNES, we've been addicted to the crazy multiplayer blast fests that only Bomberman could deliver.
Today we learned some new details about Bomberman's WiiWare outing which is now dubbed Bomberman Blast. Of course the game will feature the classic deathmatch gameplay you're accustomed to, but it will also feature one of the greatest things we could have hoped for... Mii support!
That's right! In addition to your typical cute-as-a-button death robo's, you'll also be able to lay waste to your opponents using your typical cute-as-a-button you. Or Darth Vader, or Chuck Norris, or... well.. you get the point.
As far as online play is concerned, we'll be getting 8 players over Nintendo Wi-Fi connection, with up to 4 on a single Wii. This should make for some really great parties as far as we're concerned.
Like Alien Crush Returns, we didn't receive a release date, but we're assuming it'll be relatively soon.

If you're a frequent visitor to the site, or if you listen to our podcast, you probably already know how we feel about pinball. For months, one of our favorite overall Wii games has been, incredibly, Pinball Hall of Fame: Williams Collection and before the release of that game, we were hooked on Devil's Crush on the Virtual Console.
That's why we're so excited that Hudson is remaking their other pinball classic, Alien Crush, for a WiiWare release. In addition to 3d graphics and online leaderboards, Hudson announced to us today that the game will also include online head to head play via the Nintendo Wi-Fi service.
While that's a nice feature, being that it's pinball, we see most of the competition coming in the form of the leaderboards. We just hope that it will include friend leaderboards as well as general ones. For some of us, just being better than our friends is good enough!
In either case, we're really excited for this one. No word on a release date, but we're assuming it's pretty close to ready based on the timing of this press release.
After a drought of a week, it seems that games are back, especially if you're a kid or into sports games. Or maybe even both. We still can't decide if we're excited for Super Sluggers or not... maybe it would have been more exciting had it come out in April..

A few of the DS games this week have Wi-Fi connectivity, so look for Digimon World Championship, N+, and Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness in the games list.. ready to add to your profile and make friends in.

In celebration of today's launch of Mario Super Sluggers, Nintendo has released "trading cards" across the net that can be collected to unlock access to gameplay videos and other downloads.
This is kind of a strange way to market something.. wouldn't Nintendo just want to give access to this stuff, rather than forcing their customers to go on a wild goose chase?
The hunting aspect of this may be interesting, but as of this writing, the site is so bogged down, we can't even create an account.

A good Monday morning to everyone! We have a typical three game release this week, with two of them being pretty good while the third is questionable. ..

Ubisoft just released a metric shit ton of casual game announcements and assets to go with them, and if you thought they were milking their franchises before,.. just read this list of upcoming titles that's already making us beg for a lobotomy:
Petz Monkeyz House
Petz Rescue Endangered Paradise
Petz Rescue Wildlife Vet
Petz Rescue Ocean Patrol
My Stop Smoking Coach with Allen Carr
Imagine Wedding Designer
Imagine Teacher
Imagine Party Babyz (seriously,.. imagine that)
Imagine Movie Star
Imagine Interior Designer
Imagine Fashion Party
Imagine Fashion Designer NY
Imagine Babysitters
So,.. don't get confused... Petz Rescue is actually an entirely DIFFERENT series than the normal Petz games. Is there no end to Ubisoft's casual horrors? At this rate we're sure they're determined to work themselves through the entire zoo 2 or 3 times over, and to teach girls to do every stereotypical female job in the book. (Is "fashion party" even a job??)
